What is your academic background? What research experience did you have before grad school?

I am a first year student at BIG who graduated from Dartmouth College this past June with a double major in Biology and Mathematics. In my undergraduate career, I worked on several projects that involved mathematical models of cancers. Here at Harvard, I am really interested in studying translational genomics of human diseases.

Why did you choose BIG?

I chose to join BIG because of the breadth of resources the department has to offer as well as the program’s focus on using bioinformatics to improve human health.

How do you like living in Boston? What do you do when you are not working?

Boston is a wonderful city, and I have loved living here. It has the intimacy of a small town but also the resources of a big city. When I’m not working and taking classes, I love to cook and bake!
