Benedikt

Benedikt is originally from Germany, where he studied mathematics at the University of Bonn. Transitioning from mathematics to computational biology, he completed a master's degree at HMS. Before joining the program, Benedikt developed methods and software for mutational signature analysis. His research aims to characterize mutational processes holistically by developing multimodal algorithms based on non-negative tensor decompositions and topic models. He is eager to learn from the diverse perspectives on computational biology offered by the faculty and fellow students at DBMI. Ultimately, his goal as a scientist is to enable scalable and personalized therapies for cancer patients.
